Founded by Michael Portillo, a coach with hands-on experience at the highest levels of the game, including playing with elite DA/MLS NEXT clubs and trialing and gaining interest from professional teams in Netherlands (FC Utrecht), Mexico (Queretaro FC), USA (San Antonio FC, USL), Honduras (CD Marathon, CD Real Sociedad, CA Boca Juniors de Tocoa).

Michael Portillo
Player Development Specialist
Michael Portillo’s journey in soccer began as a young player, competing at semi-professional levels from the age of 15 and being scouted by prestigious academies like FC Utrecht in the Netherlands, playing with elite DA/MLS NEXT clubs and trialing and gaining interest from professional teams in Mexico (Queretaro FC), USA (San Antonio FC, USL), Honduras (CD Marathon, CD Real Sociedad, CA Boca Juniors de Tocoa). His playing career, was complemented by a seamless transition into coaching after overcoming career-ending injuries.
As a coach, Michael specializes in player development through modern, research-driven methodologies. His passion for the sport and commitment to youth development inspire everything we do at Portillo Pasión Fútbol Training.
